Peter West
Peter earned his open water certification in 1985 and dived for a decade or so before his daughter came along. As he was working in Antarctica by that time, he figured he had enough risk in his life and stopped for a few years. Peter started diving again about seven years ago, WITH his daughter, in Malaysia. He earned his Master Scuba Diver and Divemaster ratings through Atlantic Edge. Peter became a divemaster and met his personal goal of doing so two weeks before his 65th birthday! Peter started working at the shop to round out his divemaster education. Although Peter has nothing against warm water, he has dived everywhere from a whitewater river in Idaho to the Galapagos to a flooded mine in Missouri to a kelp forest in California. Peter volunteers at the National Aquarium, behind the scenes in endangered coral propagation and so he HAD to join the shop's coral reef restoration trip in October 2022 to Bonaire.
