Mike Mazza

Mike Mazza is a Master Scuba Diver Instructor, including Emergency First Response and CPR. Mike has embarked on 700 dives all over the world and enjoys teaching others how to safely explore the ocean.

It all started in the 90s on a trip to Acapulco, Mexico that Mike took with a friend. They were relaxing on the beach working on their tans and a guy came up and asked if they wanted to go scuba diving. Mike and his friend decided to go for it. They hopped on a short boat ride, listened to some basic instruction, and dove right in. Fast forward 15 years to 2005 and Mike decided the time was right to get certified, in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.

After getting certified and diving as much as he possibly could with friends and family, Mike decided he wanted to become a professional diver and in 2011, started his dive master training with Atlantic Edge.  Mike spent 5 fantastic years as a DM with Atlantic Edge and then turned his interest to teaching, becoming an instructor in 2017 and now a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. He has been working for 11 years with Atlantic Edge and enjoys teaching new and experienced divers about how to navigate shipwrecks, deep diving, O2, Emergency First Response and CPR. Mike has some creative teaching techniques including helping to design a unique zombie-themed program with our shop owner where certified divers learn about zombies and how to search for them, practicing their search and rescue skills.

Diving has a familial aspect to it and is a common language around the world. Some of his favorite places for diving are: Australia, Cozumel, Coiba, and Martinique.  One of Mike's favorite spots is in the Bahamas where he hunts lionfish surrounded by many sharks! The best memories he has with diving are the close friendships that he has made and certifying his son!
